Rows of chairs, prior to a lecture. Odense offentlige Slagterier, March, 2017. Nikon D800, Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 AF-S G ED N

Rows of yellow chairs, lined up to seat music or lecture audiences inside the former main hall of Odense Public Slaughterhouse, now used as leisure- and community space for the compounds new residents, mainly students.

The whole main building and it’s surroundings have been almost rebuild between 2015 and 2017.

The project defined a completely different bid. How to create unique housing for young people, with a very different approach than traditionally built homes. The recycling of old, conservative industrial buildings offer a unique opportunity to achieve the fine contrast between new and old.
