Evening Trip: Roof

Evening Trip

The following series of photos were captured during an Evening Trip to the western coast of Funen. The elder Lillebaelt Strait Bridge and the roof construction of a bank building in the city of Middelfart. Driving out to get some sort of “catch” – to find something well worthy of taking pictures of, is a task the Editor does once in a while. Although a “catch” is never guaranteed, that particular evening there were a few objects worth the time spent. Usually, chances are 50:50.

The evening in question, with the sun setting behind an almost cloud-free sky, demanded a few captions of the soft light conditions with colors ranging from yellow all the way to dark purple. Even if the the exposure times had to be slightly elevated, the colors got even more pronounced. All the following Photos were shot almost exclusively in the dark, towards pitch dark.

The following series are night captures of the roof construction of a local bank building in Middelfart, at the far western end of the Island. At daytime, the roof might look rather ordinary, dull, like it was of rather trivial architecture. Whereas it can be used for various, photographic compositions, proving that capturing lighting facets, shadows and shapes can be done at nighttime as well – with great succes.
