One of many editor favorites. Although never published before, these photos are the result of a creative, productive and very funny winter afternoon in 2014 at the editors studio. We were experimenting with the merger of multiple exposures into one single photo. We chose to call these “Mirror Mirage”.
Preparations for such a project are straightforward: For a multiple exposure session, one does not need other- or more – ingredients than ordinary portrait- or studio shoots require. What’s important is that if there is an object present throughout all exposures, this object must be at the exact same spot in every exposure. If the idea is that there is a chair or other piece of furniture in the picture, make sure that it is fixed at the very same spot, under all exposures. All other factors can be variable – as the people in the pictures show. But always with the mentioned, static object as a starting point.
